No wonder filmmakers in Mumbai are willing to wait from to eternity for Rahman's dates. It is rumored that at least two recent big bugets projects. In Mumbai-Raj Kumar Santoshi's Pukar & govind Nihalani's Takshak- suffered on account of Rahman. Yet he has used the most flawless voice of the cen tury in songs for Dil se, Lagaan, Pukaar & Zubeda.

Lata Mangeshkar was enchanting by Rahman's style of working. The tune Jiya jale for Dil se was ready & the take okayed within a few hours.

He followed up an eclectic score in another Rahman flick, Bombay Rahman had arrived. The song from the film Rangeela- Tanha-Tanha achieved across the country popularity within a week of it's music release.

Never mind if he doesn't understand the hind i lyrics that his required to render ! Songs such asDil se in Dil se & "Ishq bina kya jeena yaro" in Taal reveal a flair for understand emotions. Almost a decade after"Roja", A.R.Rahman is still the only composer in Indian who goes beyoned the words of a lyric to compose feelings.
